Introduction

We are Bachelor of Finance Students from University of Malaya. This blog is created for the update of our BoF social engagement Group 1 activities for GIG 1005: Jalinan Masyarakat Semester 2 for year 2015/2016

What is Social Engagement?

Social Engagement is a university course for all degree students and it is compulsory to take during second semester of their first year of study. Students are required to organize, and perform a minimum of 30 hours of community service in the form of projects subject to their own discretion, with the assistance of course coordinators.

Objectives of Social Engagement

1.      To promote understanding and interaction between the former and the latter by exposing students a plight of impoverished and neglected groups in this society.

2.      To give the opportunity to students for organizing and implementing a socially-conscious endeavor.

3.      To foster students a sense of moral obligation to contribute to society in a meaningful manner.

Our Social Engagement NGO partner is Challenges Media( http://challengesmedia.com/ )

This project is named “Buddy College” as we want to promote disability advocacy to college students, building awareness through mentoring activities. This project involves two types of activities, Fitness and Health Assessment and Kuala Lumpur Car Free Morning including Tandem Bicycle Project.
